Going on tell us about your trip! Did you have a good time? Where were the best places? We would like to know and so would others thinking of taking one of our trips.
Classic Coast
Excellent on all counts - great way for people on a tight budget to see this part of Oz. Keeping numbers limited to 20 (22 ed.) meant that we were able to get to know each other a bit better - great feeling of team spirit... just one big happy family! All in all, exceeded my expectations. Saw much more than I expected. Also a mix of flora, fauna, culture and fun allowing for squillions of photo opps. Tour guide bakes a very good birthday cake! Certainly deserves a generous year end bonus for this!

Hi! My name is Shell. I have recently travelled with your company doing the classic coast trip- from the 16th to the 19th of October. I am from Queensland and I thought it a little strange to see no other Australians on the trip. This is just a little thank-you to all your team and our tour guide/bus drive Shane for a marvelous time. I have to say it was more than expected. I had a great time and I'd sure others had as well. It is a great package, with the perfect places to see, visit and stay. I will have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone, by simply saying you'll have a great time, and see the most beautiful sights along the way. Thank-you Wayward and to Shane for a job well done.
Hope next year to go on another one of your trips.
Regards Shell (Queensland) - November 2001
All perfect. There is nothing I would like to have changed. The tour guide had a big knowledge about everything (history, animals, landscape...). Accommodations were very good.

G'day, Had to email and say what a fantastic trip I've just had - four great days travelling The Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide. Our driver/guide, Andrew, was really entertaining and very informative about all the places we visited. I have booked the 'Just the Centre' tour from Alice on Saturday and I hope this is just as good! I would strongly recommend Wayward to anyone wishing to take tours in this part of Australia. My only complaint is that you don't have any tours from Alice to Darwin - I hope you are planning to expand. (Ed. thanks for the encouragement - we do now go to Darwin!) Thanks again,
Lydia - May 2001
Excellent - just the right balance of stops and travelling. Guides were brilliant - interesting and informative. We loved the Seals by Sea side excursion and Coorong guided walk by Victor (indigenous foods and medicines walk - ed.). We enjoyed the tour so much. Accommodations (motels option) were comfortable, spacious and very clean. Just want to thank you for dealing with our slightly complex arrangements (we stopped over in Portland to do the 120km Great South West Walk) in such a professional manner. It all went very smoothly - your office is very well run (hey, one for us! - ed.)

Dear whoever it is who reads these.. I wanted to write and tell you that the Classic Coast trip I took with Wayward Bus this May was undoubtedly the highlight of my trip to Australia. Special mention must go to the fantastic driver-guides Scotty (McA) and Bill (G) for their constant good humour and excellent knowledge of the route. I will definitely be returning to Australia for more Wayward trips!
Yours, Catherine - UK
Face The Outback
I have booked on Face the Outback for the third time as I love it so much! Scheduled for Wed 13 Feb followed by your Alice - Darwin Sat 23rd (doing ATA trips from Syd - Ad before that). Will put me in double figures for Wayward trips!

Just been on the `Face the Outback' trip -- it was great. Really well organised, lots of food and a great bunch of people. The highlight had to be Kings Canyon. We got there the morning after a thunderstorm, and went swimming in the waterhole. Highly recommended."
Nick - Australia - October 1997
We walked the 'big three' -- Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon -- in the early morning breeze on three different mornings. This is not a paid political announcement. I was on one of those other trips in 1989 and it really was a real rush. Although we don't rush, we do get up early. On my rushed trip in 1989, we took a four minute walking trip into one of the canyons. I hadn't even realised that there was an option. This time, there were almost no other people on our three hour walk into the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta. A wonderland in rocks. Not to be missed.

The 8 Day 'Face the Outback Tour' was the absolute climax of our visit to Australia
Victor & Hulda Magusson Iceland - November 1997
I went on your 'Face the Outback' Tour and it was fantastic. I was only in Australia for 3 weeks and it was definitely one of the main highlights of my time spent there. Everything about the tour was just right, the people were great and it certainly gave me an insight into Australia and its culture"
Justine Stephens - UK - February 1998
I did the trip leaving Adelaide on Dec 25th 1996, finishing on Jan 1st 1997. It was a spectacular trip - wonderful leader - one of the best organised trips I have been on - the highlights were too great to mention - though King's Canyon on New Years day - and sitting on a ledge halfway up it has to be pretty high up there!
Emma - April 2001
Hello there! For ten weeks in 2000 we toured Australia by various means of transport. Since returning home we have shown our slides of that tour to many friends and have noticed that each time we mention that the 'highlight' of the ten weeks was the eight-day Wayward Bus Tour called 'Face the Outback'. We realise we have been most remiss in not letting you know how much we enjoyed the whole experience and hope that this note now puts it right. Just as a reminder to you, we had two parties travelling together, one lead by Bill and one by Hugh, and Peter was the 'trainee'. The organisation was amazing, the food was excellent (thanks Hugh) and the information on wildlife and bush lore imparted by Hugh and Bill was an added bonus. All in all a very enjoyable experience and one which we have said to friends that if they ever visit Oz they must do this tour. Once again, congratulations on an excellent product.
Best wishes for 2001, Lyn and Tony - UK
Face the Outback Feb 2001 Would you please pass on our sincere thanks to Grant for giving us the highlight of our trip. His enthusiasm and effort was truly amazing and we would like you to pass on our thanks for a great tour!!! As a result we will recommend your tours above everyone
Many thanks, Martin and Maria
Just The Centre
Excellent! I saw all the things I wanted to see (Uluru, Kings Canyon etc). It was long days which gave us value for money. The food was much better than I expected - and very comfy swags. Couldn't be much better.
Emma (Sweden) - October 2003
A few words about the Wayward Bus. I thought the tour of the Red Centre was great: everyone had a good time, we never seemed to be in a hurry when visiting any of the sights on the intinerary which we always seemed to arrive at first. Rob, besides being an all-round good bloke, was a first rate driver-guide and cooked a mean pancake (plenty of 'em too!), and his knowledge of what we were seeing was in-depth and informative. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone considering a trip through Central Australia and they certainly live up to their motto.
Thanks guys. John
I recently wrote to say how much I enjoyed your ocean road trip and I would like to say thank-you for taking the trouble to reply - really appreciated. I had to send another to say that the 'Just the Centre' tour which I have just taken was just as good. Grant was the tour guide this time and his knowledge of flora and fauna is incredible- another successful tour to be recommended! Jen was also on the tour, on her 'famil', and she was a lot of fun. I know it would be impractical, cost wise, to always do this but having two guides added to the entertainment value when they get on as well as Grant and Jen do. I must also mention Geoff who picked us up at Eldundra to return to Alice- two of us on the trip had no accomodation booked in Alice and, when the places we tried were all fully booked, Geoff went out of his way to find us a nice friendly hostel. Very considerate. We obviously bumped into other tour groups doing similar things and, despite the fact we had positive feedback from the people on them, they did seem to be very rushed. I cannot imagine doing Uluru, Kings Canyon and the Olgas in three days!
Lydia Sollitt - May 2001
The tour was excellent, I never felt rushed or herded along. We were all invited to make daily choices about what we did. We fitted loads into each day and still had time to chill and have a laugh. All aspects great, bus, equipment, schedule, heaps of good food. Normally avoid tours like the plauge but this trip has changed my mind. Great value for money for the amount of things we did. I can't fault the 3.5 days.

Territory Run
Brilliant. Best tour I've been on. Very well planned. Shorty was the perfect guide. Timing of arrivals perfect. Devils Marbles, Mataranka, Edith Falls were awesome.
Ebren (UK) - Nov 2003
Also did Darwin-Alice with guide Ben. One of the most enjoyable, memorable trips in Oz. Excellent at his job and will make us recommend WB to anyone. Very impressive. In one word - LEGEND!
Ruth (Ireland) - October 2003
Kangaroo Island
Excellent - exceeded my expectations. The scenery was stunning and I really appreciated the out-of-the-way and off-the-beaten-track stops along the way. Picnic lunches were delicious and nutritious. Wilderness Resort was comfortable and clean. Tom was absolutely the best.
Judy (Canada) - October 2003
I would like to take a couple minutes of your time to let you know what a fantastic time I had on your Wayward tour to Kangaroo Island on Monday and Tuesday. Danni was by far the most interesting, informative and friendliest guide I have ever met and I thought you needed to know you have a brilliant member of staff. I am sure also that trainee Todd will blossom into a fine young charismatic guide who will be a hit with the ladies!! Thank you again for employing such great staff that do ACTUALLY MAKE the tour. Of course K.I is a beautiful place and that is a fact but the company made it extra special for me. Keep up the great work.
Kind regards, Helen - 2001
Just a quick note to say that I enjoyed the Great Ocean Road Coastal and Kangaroo Island tours. I particularly enjoyed the Kangaroo Island trip - the beaches and wildlife there were some of the best I've seen in Australia. The guide was enthusiastic and informative and the accommodation in the wilderness lodge was superb.
I thought you might be interested in my holiday snaps some of which feature the trips.

Tours In General
One very satisfied Adelaide customer who plans on doing every other Wayward trip on offer (maybe more than once!!!)" That was what Deb wrote on the OUTSIDE of the envelope! Inside was a card with:
"Just writing to let you know what a fantastic time I (& my fellow travellers) had on the recent Adelaide to Alice jaunt !!!!!! Departing on June 30, with Dave at the wheel, everything was perfect - with the exception of the extremely chilly first night, which caught everyone by surpise !!! Not that Wayward could do much about that !! I've been travelling for almost 20 years, the majority of it on similar camping/safari type trips. Africa, Alaska, Turkey, Arctic Circle area of Scandinavia, Asia ... All of them were fantastic, but (with the odd exception) there was always the inevitable problem or two. I guess I was expecting some minor hitch on this trip, also. But as luck - or perhaps, skill and a talent for planning - would have it, everything was amazingly ... brilliant !! The bus stayed in one piece, the trailer also, no tents leaked, my hire sleeping bag was warm, the food was great (ah, Dave - you're a LEGEND!) etc, etc, etc. Forget 'Dolly the Sheep' - if ever cloning catches on, make sure Dave is part of the experiment !!! Every tour should have a Dave ! A great driver, an even better cook (if that's possible!), a very funny storyteller, full of knowledge ... all of this without an ego, without setting rules the army would be proud of and by being able to communicate with people from all walks of life. As Dave says: "Kick back, relax and enjoy" - Keep going Wayward - you're brilliant !!

I really enjoyed finding an Australian Company that did tourism the way I like it"
Alan & Judy Arthur - UK - June 1997
Not just a tour but an adventure and learning experience that left me with the desire to return"
Kirsten Wucher - USA - July 1997
It was just the right amount of travelling per day and viewing scenery that we would probably not have found if we had hired a car and done the journey ourselves"
R. Collins - UK - June 1997
The driver-guide was a skilled driver, considerate, helpful and personable. He was mindful of the needs of the diverse passenger group and did his best to see that everyone had a pleasant trip.
Najjaiena Majjarelli - July 1996
Well planned tour which gives you the time to appreciate the diverse array of attractions offered along this wonderful route. The ONLY way to go"
Rosemarie - Australia - September 1997
I had a wonderful time on each of these trips, not only did the drivers make the trips great fun, but were also keen to share with us their knowledge of your beautiful country.
Claire Rennilson - UK - December 1996
The sights were amazing and also the way in which they were presented. As you say "Let the others Rush". My experience was all that I hoped for on that leg of my journey. I only wish for tours like yours in other areas of the world I wish to travel in
